Meet Sammy Martz

Thirty six year old Sammy's interest in the sports of auto racing was ignited at an early age. His father, Jim Martz is one of the most respected and popular race car drivers of a past era. Family activities always consisted of attending motorsports events. As a teenager, Sam became even more involved in the sport by working as a pit crew member for a local race team.

In 1990, the time was right for Sammy Martz to climb behind the wheel of his own racecar. The famed five-eights mile clay track at the Flemington Fairgrounds in Flemington, N.J. was the launching point of Sam's racing career. His talents and ability were obvious immediately as he posted several top finishes, and claimed the 1990 Flemington Speedway rookie of the year title.

As Sammy became a more seasoned and skilled driver, he became more consistent in top finishes. His experience was proven at the Grandview Speedway where he  had his first major win in 1994. Smoother driving techniques and increased speed indicate he has attained a high degree of professionalism.

An electrician by trade, Sammy resides in Whitehouse, New Jersey. Keeping a keen eye on all televised national racing events, he still manages to enjoy other sports such as snow skiing, football and swimming.

But Sam's favorite position is in the drivers seat, where his 2002 racing season goal was to cross the finish line first as many times as possible. He appreciates the rewards of winning, and understands all aspects of his racing career, including enjoying time with his fans and the media. The things that are important to Sammy include public relations, the sports of racecar driving, and the fans who attend the races. Being a true professional and a respected member of the racing world, Sam takes every opportunity to meet the public and give due credit to his sponsors and supporters.

2006 was a breakout season for Martz. Switching to a new Bicknell chassis, Sammy promptly put the Martz Motorsports modified at the front of the pack at New Egypt. After sorting out minor mechanical woes, Martz won the final three features of the season.. . . . . In a Row!

If Martz can carry his hot streak through the winter months, the competition may have more then they can handle in 2007 . . . . . . .
